Non-metal gasket
Pads made of non-metallic materials occupy a significant position in the type of gaskets.
According to the basic bronze-based bearing constituting the
non-metallic gasket material, the present composition (matrix) can be
divided into the following seven categories:
1. Vegetable quality: such as paper, cotton, softwood, etc.;
2. Dynamic substances: such as thrust washer leather, wool felt, etc.;
3. Minerals: such as asbestos, glass, ceramics and other fibers;
4. Rubber: such as natural rubber and a variety of synthetic rubber,
such as butyl aluminum alloy bearing nitrile rubber, chloroprene rubber,
styrene butadiene rubber, fluorine rubber, silicone rubber, etc.;
5. Synthetic resin: such as pure polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, filled PTFE, etc.;
6.Graphite: such as flexible graphite, carbon fiber and graphite fiber;
7. Short fiber reinforced elastomer (rubber, plastic): such as
asbestos, mineral wool and other inorganic fibers, organic fibers,
carbon or graphite fiber reinforced elastomers.
According to the current industry commonly used gasket types, can be divided into six kinds:
1. Rubber gasket (elastomer plate)
2. Asbestos rubber gasket;
3. Non-asbestos fiber rubber gaskets;
4. PTFE gaskets: including pure PTFE, filled PTFE or expanded PTFE gaskets;
5. Teflon-coated gaskets: including Teflon-coated rubber or asbestos rubber or non-asbestos fiber rubber gaskets;
6. Pure flexible graphite gasket.
